August 3, 1950, Puyi was confined in Fushun War Criminal Management Center as Prisoner No. 981. December 4, 1959, Puyi was granted amnesty by the Supreme People´s Court. In his article From Emperot to Citizen, Puyi wrote, "After ten yeats of rehabilitation, I was transformed from a feudal emperor to an ordinary worker, from a ghost to a man. The old Puyi died.
